Privacy Policy

1.Who we are

SoftwareDevTeam.gr (SoftwareDevTeam) is the controller responsible for the limited processing described in this policy. You can reach us at InDanger@softwaredevteam.gr or via SoftwareDevTeam.gr.

2.Information we process

InDanger only handles the information it needs to keep you safe. Most of it never leaves your device. This includes:

• Emergency contacts you add — the name, phone number and/or email address, optional backup channel, and the message you set for each contact.
• Location data — your device’s location, obtained at the moment you fire a real or simulated alert, so it can be attached to that alert. It is not tracked continuously.
• Message content — the emergency or test message you send.
• Email-relay configuration — if you use email, the SMTP host, port, sender address, username, and password; the password is stored encrypted via your device’s secure keystore.
• Self-test recipients — your own phone number and/or email address used for testing, which only ever receive your own test messages.
• App settings and an on-device activity log — your preferences and a local timeline of trigger checks, dispatch attempts, and permission changes.
• Device & technical information — limited information needed to operate (for example, which permissions are granted and whether telephony or location is available).

3.How we use information & legal bases

We use the information above solely to provide the Service — that is, to let you configure contacts and triggers and to send your alert and location to the contacts you choose, to let you test that this works, and to keep the app secure and reliable.

Where the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, our legal bases are: performance of our agreement with you and acting on your request (to deliver the Service); your consent (for location access, contact access, and sending messages on your behalf, which you can withdraw at any time through your device settings); and our legitimate interests in keeping the Service secure and functioning, and in complying with the law.

4.How information is shared

We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising. Information is shared only as follows:

• With the contacts you choose — at your direction, when you send an alert or test, your message and location are delivered to those recipients.
• Through delivery providers — your mobile carrier (for SMS) and your configured email/SMTP provider (for email) transmit your messages. We do not control those providers.
• Through device and location providers — where available, your operating system and location services (for example, Google Play Services and mapping providers) help determine and link your location.
• For legal or safety reasons — if required by law, or where we believe in good faith it is necessary to protect rights, safety, or to comply with legal process (note: as we do not store your alerts, in most cases we hold no such data to disclose).
• In a corporate transaction — if SoftwareDevTeam.gr is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer subject to this policy.

5.Storage & security

Your contacts, settings, and activity log are stored locally on your device. Relay credentials are encrypted using your device’s secure keystore. SoftwareDevTeam.gr does not operate a backend server that receives or stores your emergency alerts, contacts, location, or messages.

We take reasonable measures to protect information, but no app, device, or transmission method is completely secure. You are responsible for securing your device (for example, with a screen lock) and your email/SMTP account. Once a message is sent, it is held by your carrier, email provider, and recipients according to their own policies.

6.Data retention

Because the data lives on your device, it is retained until you delete it (for example, by removing a contact or clearing data) or until you uninstall the app, which removes the data the app stored. We do not keep copies of your contacts, location, or messages on our servers. Messages already delivered remain with your carrier, email provider, and recipients under their retention practices. 7.Permissions we request

InDanger requests only the permissions it needs, and explains them in the app. These may include:

• Location — to attach your location to an alert.
• SMS — to send alerts by text message.
• Contacts — only if you choose to import a contact from your address book; you can also add contacts manually.
• Notifications — to show monitoring status and the optional tap-to-cancel window.
• Background activity / battery exemption — to keep monitoring running so a trigger can fire when you need it.

You can grant or revoke any permission at any time in your device settings; revoking a permission may limit or disable parts of the Service.

8.Third-party services

The Service depends on third parties we do not control, whose own privacy policies apply to their processing of your information: your mobile carrier, your email/SMTP provider, your device’s operating system and location services (such as Google Play Services and mapping providers where present), and the app store you downloaded from.

9.Your privacy rights (GDPR / EEA / UK)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because most data is stored on your device, you can exercise many of these rights directly — by viewing, editing, or deleting your contacts and settings, revoking permissions, or uninstalling the app. For anything else, contact us at InDanger@softwaredevteam.gr.

If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority (Hellenic Data Protection Authority).

10.California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, you may have the right to know what personal information is collected, to access or delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its “sale” or “sharing”. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. 11.Children’s privacy

The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age required by your local law. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

12.International transfers

When you send an alert, your message and location go to the recipients and providers you choose, who may be located in other countries. We do not otherwise transfer your data internationally, as we do not store it on our servers. Where any transfer by us does occur, we will use appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.

13.Website & cookies

Our website uses a web font from Google Fonts. To respect your privacy, we do not contact Google until you agree: on your first visit we show a notice and use your device’s built-in fonts until you choose “Accept fonts”. If you accept, the font is loaded from Google (which may then receive your IP address) and we store a single, strictly-necessary entry in your browser’s local storage to remember your choice. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The contact forms on our site open your own email application (via a “mailto” link), so you decide what, if anything, to send us — the site itself does not submit your form data to us.

14.Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
