Terms of Service

Last Updated: June 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the DevRoot mobile application (“DevRoot”, the “App”). Please read them carefully. By installing or using the App you agree to these Terms.

01Acceptance of these Terms

DevRoot is provided by SoftwareDevTeam (“we”, “us”, “our”). By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.

If you use the App on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.

02Definitions

“App” / “DevRoot”
The DevRoot Android application and any updates, in any form of distribution.
“Device”
The Android phone or tablet on which you install the App.
“Local Data”
The content you create and store within the App (projects, checklists, tasks, settings), which is held in the App’s private storage on your Device.
“Backup File”
A JSON file you choose to export from, or import into, the App using your Device’s system file picker.
“Google Play”
The Google Play Store and associated services operated by Google LLC.

03Eligibility & age requirements

You must be at least the age required to consent to the use of digital services in your jurisdiction:

If you are below the applicable age, you may use the App only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

04Licence to use DevRoot

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to install and use the App on Android Devices that you own or control, for your personal or internal business use. The App is licensed, not sold.

You may not, except to the extent applicable law prohibits this restriction:

05Google Play & distribution

If you obtained the App through Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. These Terms are between you and us only — Google is not a party to them and is not responsible for the App or its content. To the extent of any conflict between these Terms and the Google Play Terms regarding distribution, the Google Play Terms govern that distribution.

We build the App to comply with applicable Google Play Developer Program Policies, including policies on user data, permissions, and disclosures. Refunds for any paid features obtained via Google Play are handled under Google’s applicable refund policies, in addition to any statutory rights you have.

06Acceptable use

You agree not to use the App to:

Because DevRoot operates offline on your Device, you are solely responsible for the lawfulness of the content you choose to store in it.

07Your content & data

Your Local Data belongs to you. DevRoot stores the projects, checklists, and settings you create in the App’s private storage on your Device. We do not operate servers for the App, and we do not access, collect, or receive your Local Data. See the Privacy Policy for details.

You are responsible for your own backups Because your data lives only on your Device, uninstalling the App, clearing its storage, or losing the Device may permanently erase your Local Data. Use the App’s JSON export to keep your own backups. Backup Files are created and controlled entirely by you.

08Device permissions

DevRoot is designed to work with minimal access to your Device. As of the “Last Updated” date, the App requests no Android runtime permissions and no internet access. Exporting and importing Backup Files uses Android’s system file picker (the Storage Access Framework), which lets you grant access to a single file you choose without granting broad storage permission.

If a future version introduces a feature that requires a permission (for example, notifications), the App will request it transparently, explain why it is needed, and the Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly. You can review and revoke permissions at any time in your Android system settings.

09Pricing, purchases & subscriptions

DevRoot is currently free to use and contains no advertisements, no in-app purchases, and no subscriptions.

If we introduce paid features in the future, the following will apply and these Terms will be updated:

10Intellectual property

The App, including its software, design, “DevRoot” name, logo, and all related intellectual property, is owned by SoftwareDevTeam or its licensors and is protected by applicable laws. Except for the licence granted in Section 4, no rights are transferred to you.

Feedback. If you send us suggestions or feedback, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use it to improve the App, without obligation or compensation to you.

11Third-party services

The App does not currently bundle third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The App is distributed through Google Play, whose own terms and privacy policy apply to that distribution and are outside our control. Any third-party services we add in the future will be disclosed in the Privacy Policy, and your use of them will be subject to the relevant third party’s terms.

12Disclaimers (“as is”)

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will prevent any loss of your Local Data.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you, and you may have additional rights under your local law.

13Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the App. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) EUR 0.1 / USD 0.1.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or certain consumer rights). If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights that these Terms do not affect.

14Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless SoftwareDevTeam from any claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable expenses arising out of your unlawful use of the App or your violation of these Terms or the rights of a third party. This Section does not apply where prohibited by applicable consumer law.

15Changes to the app & Terms

We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date and, where appropriate, provide a more prominent notice. Changes are effective when posted (or on a later stated date). Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms; if you do not agree, stop using and uninstall the App.

16Term & termination

These Terms apply while you use the App. You may end them at any time by uninstalling the App. We may suspend or terminate the licence granted to you if you materially breach these Terms. On termination, the licence ends and you must stop using the App; sections that by their nature should survive (e.g., intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will survive.

17Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of Athens, Greece will have jurisdiction, except that:

18Consumer rights (EU & US)

These Terms do not limit any non-waivable statutory rights you have as a consumer, including:
